Learn All About It
Pilates
Created by Joseph Pilates, the Pilates method seeks to develop a toned, healthy, balanced body with specific focus on creating a strong core. Inspired by his belief in the importance of muscle control and mind-body awareness, Joseph Pilates originally named his method “Contrology.” Pilates exercises include mat exercises, work with small props (such as bands, balls, foam roller, etc.) as well as several large pieces of equipment (Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Ladder Barrel). The beautiful thing about Pilates is that it is more than just a workout. With the right teacher, you will get a great workout while you learn about your body and make new connections and discoveries each time.
